Consent to the collection and processing of personal data

1. Parties to the consent

1.1. I, a user of the SeeU mobile app and the seeu.kz website (the “Service”), freely, of my own will and in my own interest, give my consent to the owner of the Service (the “Operator”), whose details are published on the Legal information page, to collect and process my personal data on the terms set out below, in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Personal Data and Their Protection”.

1.2. If I am 16 or 17, I confirm that my legal guardian has read this consent and does not object to the processing of my personal data.

2. Personal data covered

• my mobile phone number;
• name, username, profile photo and profile description;
• material I publish and send: photos, videos, audio recordings, texts, messages and my card;
• information about my activity in the Service: follows, access, blocks, card views, warmth sent and received, calls (without their content) and reports;
• technical data: IP address, information about my device, operating system and app version, session identifiers, notification token, request and error logs;
• data to which I grant access through device permissions: hashes of numbers from my address book, the nearest city, and the sound and images I record or transmit.

3. Purposes of processing

• registration and authorisation in the Service and operation of my account;
• provision of the Service’s features: posts, messaging, calls, the scanner and card, rooms, meetups, live broadcasts and Audio;
• ensuring the safety of users, preventing fraud and abuse, and reviewing reports;
• responding to my enquiries;
• improving the Service on the basis of technical data and de-identified statistics;
• compliance with the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

4. Actions performed with personal data

Collection, recording, systematisation, accumulation, storage, clarification (updating, amendment), retrieval, use, dissemination to the extent necessary for the operation of the Service (showing my profile, posts and card to other users in accordance with my settings), de-identification, blocking, deletion and destruction, with or without the use of automated means.

5. Transfer to third parties and cross-border transfer

5.1. I consent to the transfer of my personal data to parties that process it on behalf of the Operator for the purposes specified in section 3: the server infrastructure provider; Cloudflare, Inc., for the storage of media files; WhatsApp (Meta Platforms), when I confirm my number at sign-in by sending a message myself; and Apple Inc. and Google LLC, for the delivery of notifications.

5.2. I consent to the cross-border transfer of my personal data to these parties, including to states outside the Republic of Kazakhstan, to the extent necessary to achieve the stated purposes.

5.3. I understand that the Operator may provide personal data to government authorities in the cases and in the manner established by the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

6. Period of validity

This consent is valid from the moment of registration until the account is deleted or the consent is withdrawn. Thereafter, data is deleted within the periods specified in the Privacy Policy, except for data that the Operator is required by law to retain.

7. Withdrawal of consent

7.1. I may withdraw my consent in the app: Settings (Настройки) → My data (Мои данные), or by deleting my account in the app’s settings. If I cannot sign in, consent is withdrawn by writing to privacy@seeu.kz and stating the phone number linked to my account.

7.2. I understand that the Service cannot be used without the processing of personal data, and that withdrawal of consent therefore means deletion of the account. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it.

7.3. I may turn off device permissions (Bluetooth, contacts, location, camera, microphone, photos) in my phone’s settings at any time without withdrawing my consent as a whole.

8. Confirmation

By registering with the Service, I confirm that I have read the Privacy Policy and understand my rights as a personal data subject, and I give this consent.
