Safety on SeeU

SeeU helps people meet in real life, and we recognise the responsibility this entails. For us, the safety of our users is not an additional feature but the foundation on which the service is built.

Our principles

Protected personal space

Nobody can send you a private message or call you without your consent. You decide who is given access to your personal communication, and you grant it only to people you trust.

Anonymity until you choose otherwise

People nearby cannot see your name, phone number or profile. You decide when, and to whom, you reveal who you are.

No hidden observation

Attention on SeeU is always open: the owner of a card can see every view of it. It is impossible to watch another person unnoticed in the app.

Protection from tracking

SeeU does not keep a history of your movements and does not show other users where you are. The information the app uses to find people nearby is anonymous and constantly renewed.

Blocking without time limits

If you do not wish to interact with a user, you can block them. They will then no longer see your card or be able to message you.

Age restriction

The service is intended for users aged 16 and over. Users aged 16–17 may use it only with the consent of a parent or other legal guardian. The conditions are set out in Age and child safety.

If something goes wrong

  • Report the violation. In the app, the “Report” button is available on posts, comments, stories, profiles, cards, messages in private chats and in rooms, on rooms themselves, meetups, live broadcasts and Audio recordings. Reports are reviewed by moderators; the procedure is described in Reports, moderation and appeals.
  • Block the user. You can do this from their page or from their card.
  • Contact us. You can write to us directly from the app: Settings → Help and support. If a person’s safety is at risk, also write to safety@seeu.kz: such reports are handled as a priority.

If anyone is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services without delay.

Recommendations for meeting in person

SeeU helps people get acquainted, but the meeting itself takes place outside the app. We recommend taking a few simple precautions:

  • arrange first meetings in busy public places;
  • let someone close to you know where you are going and with whom;
  • do not disclose your home address or accept a ride from someone you do not yet know well;
  • do not transfer money to people you have met through the app;
  • trust your instincts: if anything makes you uneasy, you are entitled to end the meeting at any time.

Data protection

We transmit data only over secure connections, restrict staff access to it and never sell it to third parties. Full details of how we process personal data are provided in the Privacy Policy.

If you discover a vulnerability in SeeU, please report it to security@seeu.kz. The procedure is described in Report a vulnerability.
