Reports, moderation and appeals

Last updated September 13, 2026

1. Submitting a report

1.1. In the app, a report is submitted with the “Report” button. It is available on posts, comments, stories, profiles, cards, messages in private chats and in rooms, on rooms themselves, meetups, live broadcasts and Audio recordings. You must choose a reason for the report; adding a description is optional.

1.2. By email, a report is sent to support@seeu.kz, or to safety@seeu.kz if a person’s safety is at risk. Please state the username of the account and describe the violation.

1.3. Reports are anonymous: the user who is reported will not learn who submitted the report.

1.4. Persons who are not registered on SeeU may also submit a report by email.

2. Blocking

You may block a user immediately, without waiting for a decision on a report. A blocked user will no longer see your card or be able to message you. We do not notify them of the block.

3. Review of reports

3.1. Reports are reviewed by SeeU moderators in accordance with the Community Guidelines and the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Automated checks may flag material and determine the order of review, but decisions to restrict an account are made by a person.

3.2. Reports involving threats to life, harm to children and violence are reviewed first. We aim to reach a decision on such reports within 24 hours, and on all others within several days.

3.3. A moderator has access to the reported material and to the minimum information necessary to reach a decision. Moderators’ access to data is restricted.

4. Measures applied

The following measures may be applied to offenders: removal of material, a warning, temporary restriction of features, temporary suspension or permanent blocking of the account, and referral of information to law enforcement authorities. The choice of measure depends on the seriousness of the violation and the history of the account; the detailed procedure is set out in section 9 of the Community Guidelines.

5. Notifications

If we remove your material or restrict your account, we inform you of the measure applied and the rule that was breached, except where such notice could hinder an investigation, endanger other people or is prohibited by law. We inform the person who submitted a report that it has been reviewed.

6. Appealing decisions

6.1. If you believe a decision was made in error, appeal within 30 days. Appeals are submitted in the app: Settings (Настройки) → “What is happening with my account” (Что с моим аккаунтом), using the “Appeal” button next to the decision. If you do not have access to the app, write to support@seeu.kz with the subject “Appeal”, stating the phone number linked to your account.

6.2. Appeals are reviewed by a different moderator. We respond within 14 days. If the decision is found to have been wrong, the material or account is restored.

6.3. Decisions to block an account for harm to children or terrorism are reconsidered only in the event of an obvious error, for example if the wrong account was blocked.

7. Cooperation with law enforcement

In cases of threats to life and health, harm to children and other serious crimes, we may refer information to law enforcement authorities on our own initiative. The procedure for handling requests is set out in Government requests.
